Peace, Democracy, Freedom, Terrorism are just few examples of highly ideological words that recur daily in the rhetoric of both media and politics representing a certain consensus on the definition of values and morality. But in order to outline a more complex concept of reality, a more investigative approach is necessary. In their various projects Partizan Publik (a group of young historians) do not define but explore, not ideologize but analyze, not accept but improve. Central to their concept is the connection between people and their environments. They thus step out into public space applying social sciences which implies the collaboration with various disciplines such as design and architecture but also politics. The range of projects contains architectural workshops in Tbilisi, public space invading in Beirut and various cultural debates and actions in the Netherlands. “Territory of Desire” – one of the recent projects in collaboration with Dirk Jan Visser and F.A.S.T. – aimed to explore social, cultural and spatial phenomena like the transformation of borders, forced migration, refugee camps, ghost towns, mass destruction of urban landscape.
